Smart Tasks

AI extraction, lifecycle updates, review queues, and planning

Never lose a todo buried in your notes again. Clear Tangle's AI automatically reads your captures and extracts action items, creating trackable tasks with due dates and priorities. Gmail follow-ups, meeting notes, Slack captures, and source-linked comments can also update existing work instead of creating duplicates. Every task links back to its source for full context.

Quick Access

Open tasks with Cmd/Ctrl + T

Automatic Extraction

AI scans your captures every 30 minutes looking for:

Action words

"I need to...", "Should follow up on..."

Commitments

"I'll send this by Friday"

Deadlines

"Due next week", "Before the meeting"

Assignments

"Ask Sarah to...", "Tell the team..."

Deduplication

AI checks existing pending tasks before extraction to avoid creating duplicates. If it finds a similar task already exists, it won't create a new one.

Task Lifecycle Automation

Clear Tangle does more than create new tasks. It can use connected sources to keep existing work current:

Complete from evidence

High-confidence receipts or follow-up emails can complete the matching task.

Reschedule from context

Due dates can be updated when a source clearly changes the timeline.

Add source-linked comments

Automated updates include comments that point back to the email, capture, or meeting.

Avoid duplicate tasks

Existing work is checked before creating another task for the same commitment.

Review-Backed Updates

Clear Tangle routes uncertain or medium-risk task changes to review instead of silently changing your workspace.

  • Review suggested completions, date changes, comments, and project assignments
  • Inspect the source that caused the suggestion
  • Approve, dismiss, or edit before applying the change
  • Keep an audit trail through source-linked task comments
